TITLE: NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

My dear patriotic Nigerians, with gratitude and happiness I felicitate with you all as you celebrate this wonderful New Year. As we celebrate may the blessing, good health, favor, protection, promotion, love and togetherness that this year carries shall never depart nor miss your way in Jesus name.  Amen.

New Year means new thing, new life and new way of doing things. Last year is gone. As it has become a thing of the past so shall all your troubles, sickness, tribulations, broken marriage, hardships, difficulties, rejections, failures be totally forgotten and never be remembered in Jesus name. Amen.

New Year is as exactly as someone dresses his bed. It is a well known fact that the way you dress your bed is the same way you will lay on it.  The law of mental equivalent states that whatever you experience in your life is the mental equivalent of what creates in your mind. If you always think of failure, it’s obvious and certain that failure shall never depart from your way. That means you are a candidate of failure and always bound to submit to its call any time it calls and orders you to be down. However, if you always think success and sleep with it, definitely you are already a success. That means you will have nothing to fail because you’re being fortified and refined by the indomitable power of success in motion.

There is a saying that, “what I fear most is what eventually come to me”, yes;  if you are a candidate of fear, you will never do anything tangible because the more you create vacuum for it the higher it’s accumulating your brain. That means it will never allow you to fulfill your goals or dream because life is full of tragedy, horrible omens, competitors, challenges, ups and downs. Life only gives its master key to a set of people who always ready to make decision and live with the consequences to unlock any stubborn door in the face of difficulties and challenges. Also, life only opens its success, fame, wealth, fortune storeroom to people who are not wavering in their decisions; people who know that it’s only determination and decision are the major weapons to break into the successful realm of life.

Now, we have crossed all the way from complete solid twelve months to another fresh twelve months, year 2015. What have been your achievements over the year? What were the things you did last year that yielded unimaginable results? What were the worst things and mistakes you did last year that nearly ruin you entire future? My dear patriotic Nigerians, these are the questions you must ask yourselves as we begin this new year, 2015. I want you to answer it very vividly and sincerely.  By the time you have done that, I bet you, you are a great man and woman in this awesome year.

Take for instance; when a person goes into a business with unrealistic expectations and high gross level of ineptitude, what do you think that will happen? Winning or loosing? Without being told, you expect nothing less than failure because you are a complete ignorant and not have equipped yourself against the foreseen and non-foreseen challenges. The same thing applies to when and each time we see New Year like this.  

This is what we call “New Year Resolutions’. As we enter New Year, it is important and compulsory for every single soul that crosses over to another fresh year; especially a great year like 2015 to have a clear amended best character. If any one must to succeed in a fresh year like this, he must first of all evaluate, access himself and finally make subtraction and substitution of character where it’s required. Making New Year resolutions is not a clumsy task; it’s the easiest and happiest thing to start a year with.  If any one finds it difficult to create a clear New Year resolution, believe me, within the year or end of the year such person would always have one problem or the other with life fulfillment, accomplishment and achievements. 

Below are clues on how you can start your New Year resolutions:

Last year: I was a drunkard

Results: Unable to save enough money

This year: I refuse to drink

Results: ………………………Awaiting

Last year: I was a womanizer

Results: unable to save money, I contracted sexual diseases

This year: I refuse to go after women

Results: ………………………….Awaiting

Last year: I feared to take action. I lived an extravagant life. I loved doing nothing

Results: failure, miserable life.

This year: I must take 100% responsibility for my future. I must face my challenges. I must do something, at least anything.

After you have drafted everything you would love to change about your behaviors, for better results; place it on the wall in your sitting room where it can be seeing everyday. Ensure you recite everything you wrote on your “New year resolution draft book” before you retire to bed in the night and after you wake up in the morning everyday. The reason you must do this is very vital and important.  If not for anything but, what persistency has taught us. It is said that persistence is the major key to unlock and massacre every tedious task in life. By reciting it everyday inculcates in you the power of focus, seriousness, and stability; mention it.

You can watch out for the results either in the mid year or end of the year.  Then, take a notepad and pen, write down your improvements, the differences between the current year and the previous year to see where you have done well or not as a results of your New Year Resolutions.

Finally, if you really want to make it in life, you must discipline yourself. How do you do that?  By possessing some qualities that would require your 100% focus and time devotion.  These are few of the qualities everyone who looks for success must possess:

Concentration- this is the act of focusing your mind upon a given desire until ways and means for its realization are solidly acquired. Concentrate your mind in your future than immediate pleasure that has nothing to offer you than failure and regret.

A definite purpose in life- you must learn to do away forever with aimlessness and fix your heart and hand upon some definite, well-conceived purpose as a life work.

Self-confidence- you must possess this very quality if you really want to break into the world of the successful. You must learn to master the six basic fears of life which every single person is cursed with. The fear of old age, the fear of ill health, the fear of poverty, the fear of criticism, the fear of death, and the fear of loss of love of someone.  Without one conquered these fears in life, it’s impossible to become successful in life.

Imagination- you must make imagination “the first thing first” in your life if you really aiming high. It’s this imagination that will stimulate your mind so that you can be able to conceive new ideas and develop new plans which will help you achieving your definite chief aim. He who doesn’t imagine doesn’t think fast and he is bound to remain underway. Imagination makes you to be creative. Be imaginative, creative and the world will look for you irrespective of where you come from.  

Cooperation and enthusiasm- just as I said in my last article, a tree does not make forest. If you must to make it, you must definitely learn how to influence, work and cooperate with others. You must learn how to be enthusiastic because enthusiasm will enable you to saturate with all whom you may come in contact with interest in you and in your ideas.

Self-control- in my article “Every one is a leader”, it was said that if you cannot control, lead or change yourself; there is every possibility that if you are been offered great opportunity in the world today, definitely you will fumble it. Self-control is the balance wheel with which you control your enthusiasm and direct it where you want it to take you to.  Learn to control yourself from women seduction, magic overture, drinking, smoking and every other tempting behavior.

What else can say? You can add more on your own because if I should write everything in my mind today, it will become a complete book. Let’s stop here!
