Couple arrested for killing three-day-old baby in Kano

 A couple has been arrested after they allegedly killed their three-day-old baby to hide that they had pre-marital sex. According to reports, the couple got married two months ago without anyone knowing that the wife was pregnant.

Due to the law of Sharia, it is an abomination to engage in pre-marital sex and therefore the couple decided

to hide their sin by strangling the new born baby and buried it. Neighbours who had helped the woman give birth alerted officials after the couple came home after three days without the baby.

The woman confessed to killing her baby when she was questioned by officials.
