Governor El-Rufai led administration in Kaduna has uncovered a total of N24 billion from different accounts scattered around banks in the state.
According to a report by Leadership Newspaper, about N24 billion has been recovered from 423 different bank accounts following the government’s decision to adopt a single account.
The disclosure of the recovery was made by the state deputy governor, Arch Bala Barnabas Bantex during a town hall meeting in Southern Kaduna on Saturday, September 5, 2015.
Bantex further revealed that the 423 accounts were operated by the previous administration.
According to him, the adoption of a single account by the state government brought about the recovery of the funds.
It should be noted that the Lagos State government have also announced its decision to run a single bank account following the swearing-in of the new governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
