The senate of the University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue State at its emergency meeting held on Tuesday 21st of June shifted resumption date from June 26th to July the 7th For both undergraduate and postgraduate students. This is the second time the institution is rescheduling the resumption of academic activities.
The institution was shut down following the brutal killiing of three students and a security man by unknown gunmen. According to benue.com, the three students and security man were shot dead by unknown gunmen at Shammah hostel. Security agencies have since taken over the case and have apprehended some people with bullets and arms in their possession. The school management had since the incident on the 8th of June ordered all students to vacate the premises.
Wisemen spoke to some of the students who told our correspondent that the date might still be shifted again from the stand of things. And many of them are planning to go on a longer vacation in anticipation of another date for resumption.
