police rescue two kidnapper victims in Port Harcourt

PORT HARCOURT—The Rivers State Police Command says it has rescued two kidnap victims from their abductors, after a gun battle with the kidnappers.
The command said the two victims identified as Mr. Jackson Sunday and Mrs. Mary
Monday, were rescued yesterday, after the Anti-kidnapping Squad of the Rivers State Police command stormed the kidnappers’ hideout ai Ogbakiri waterfront, in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Ahmad Muhammad, said that three of the suspected kidnappers were fatally wounded during the shootout.

Muhammad said that the two victims were freed in two separate coordinated rescue operations by the tactical unit of the command, adding that the victims were kidnapped on different days  at Rumuodara and Rumuigbo respectively.

“On storming the hideout, the suspected kidnappers found guarding the victims engaged our men in gun duel. Three of the suspected kidnappers were fatally wounded while the victims were rescued unhurt,” he said.
