It was a great day and new dawn for the people of Kogi state and the governor elect as Alhaji Yahaya Bello was inaugurated today. The newly inaugurated Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello recalling his past turbulent moment during his inaugural speech broke down in tears.
The inauguration which took place today, being 27th January, 2016 at Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, the state capital was in a colourful ceremony of its kind. In his addressing speech, he started expressing his gratitude to God Almighty and also to those who helped him in his struggling to becoming the governor of Kogi state.
"I stand here today, a grateful man; I am to the Almighty God the eternal one, who led a young boy, fatherless, to this very day of my swearing in as governor,” he said.
He further more emphasised his gratitude by thanking God and his late father who died while he was very young for leaving such a legacy that have paved him a way up there, today.. Frayokit News learnt that, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, 40, is the youngest governor of the state and as well the first lucky man from the Ibira tribe to govern the state.
He was totally overcome with emotions as he recalls his mother, Hajiya Huawa Bello.
Before this point, the humble man was masked with tears. Trying to hold back tears and keep his voice steady he said, “Despite the anguish of young widowhood, your values steadied me through the turbulence of youth and my years of self-discovery.”
