US Kids Golf Teen World Champion, Nigeria’s Georgia Oboh has once again done the country proud after emerging as Africa’s finest at the Junior Orange Bowl International Invitational in Georgia, U.S.A.
Oboh made history even before the tournament had begun by becoming the first Nigerian golfer to take part in the tournament which featured 40 girls less than 19 years of age and each country’s national champion from all over the world.
“I am immensely proud to be the first Nigerian to take part in these events and equally happy to have come out on top among the African golfers that contested, hopefully I will bring more joy to Nigerians this year in terms of participations and triumphs” Oboh told Fever pitch in a chat yesterday.
The teenager admitted that she almost missed out of the tourney due to sponsorship issues and is still calling on the National Sports Commission to come to her aid as she prepares for the Orange Blossom Tour with three world ranked tournaments starting with the Harder Hall women Invitational and the South Atlantic ladies which are billed for January.
