3 PERSONS INJURED IN EXPLOSION AT INSTABUL SHIPYARD INDUSTRIAL AREA

Officials said that two people were injured in theblast that rocked shipyard in the industrial zone of Istanbul's Tuzla district, a place infamous for work-related deaths. They were hospitalized for smoke inhalation. An earlier report said the explosion left three people injured.

--> Reports said that fire erupted in a boat manufacturing hangar. Fire crews, rushed to the scene immediately after the explosion, are still fighting to extinguish the blaze that engulfed two boats. Officials are worried that the fire triggered by the explosion may spread. It is still unclear what has caused the explosion.
