He further added, "It is still very chaotic here." It was gathered that the fire started at 11:00pm local time Sunday I.e 12 midnight Saturday ET while all the girls were sleeping in their different hostels. According to the manager of the school, the cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be known. Twenty girls were rescued by firefighters as they scaled the walls of the building, said Sawang Momdee.
Frayokit news gathered that the total number of the girls in the building when the fire broke out was thirty-eight, all girls between ages 5 and 12 were sleeping in their dormitory as they were met with doom.
In a statement posted on the school Facebook page, the school is known for providing free education, especially to the hill tribe children. It was also gathered that the school has been operating for over five years now, and teaches about 142 students range from pre-elementary to grade 6.
"We were trying to save everyone in the building but the fire spread out very quickly. We have done our best," said one of the firefighters.
The school would be closed until Friday due to the blaze. According to the school manager, "we need to repair so many things, that is our reason for this immediate closure."
