SO SAD-------SRI LANKA FLOODING: DEATH TOLL RISES TO 71

The flooding instigated by the unusual heavy rain which occurred on the 27 May 2016 in Sri Lanka is reportly to have risen its death toll from the initial 11 to 71, 278, 000 displaced and 127 missing as at today, May 21, 2016.

--> According to the disaster management center, Sri Lanka on the first day of the flooding, it was reported that 11 dead & 5 missing due to bad weather, over 200,000 people affected, 1,300 houses damaged. In another statement issued by the disaster management center, about 30,000 people have been evacuated to safe locations as heavy rains continue. Most deaths were attributed to landslides and electrocution.

  But today, being May 21, 2016 we received a report from the same disaster management center of Sri Lanka that the Death toll increases to 71, 278,000 displaced; 127 missing due to landslides.
