 1. Living together has different meanings to couples

We are basically tired of hearing young women who are smart, intelligent and attractive complain about their inability to have successful relationships.


This is because they go into relationships for different reasons. While co-habiting may be a woman’s ideal way of getting to know a man, it could also be a man’s way of getting every other benefit without investing much. To men, it is a convenient arrangement; finding women who would tend to their sexual and physical needs every now and then.


Why should he ask you to marry him when you have done everything doable outside the clause of marriage?


 2. Men lose the zeal to pursue you

To our young and beautiful ladies out there, have you ever thought about the fact that men enjoy the chasing? They love the thought of having you and losing you at the same time. However, when you live with them in the same space as if they are married already, there is nothing exciting about you anymore. You have made them see it all and they would find that new passion in some other lady. That is one of the reasons why you hear some guy broke up with a lady he has been dating for six years and got married to another lady he met within six months.



3. Why give her the engagement ring when you feel married to her already?

Most of the men out there have this mentality. Honestly, we cannot blame them that much; the ladies put themselves in that situation if we have to be the judge. There is absolutely no reason for a man to propose to a woman if he keeps getting all the things he ought to get from her after marriage before he attempts proposing. You feed him, keep his company, keep his space clean and satisfy him sexually; what else can he get from you? You have eliminated his worries by driving the thoughts of settling down with you away from him.



4. Living together is not a guarantee of a successful union

 It is quite understandable that most of these couples enjoy living together before they seal their union legally. Not only will this have a negative impact on their union when they get married, it is also possible for them to fall out of love over time. This is because the men have seen all there is to see in the ladies; there is no twist or turns to them. The union could become a statutory one; a union devoid of affection and respect because the men have seen things they ought to discover in ten or fifteen years of marriage while they were dating.



5. You may just find yourself in it without being celebrated

Another aspect of living together while dating is this, years of co-habiting may turn you into mothers. This means you may end up raising children for the men without actually being married. There is no celebration there whatsoever as you end up missing out on an important event in your life.


There would be no magical moment when the men are expected to go on a knee and bring out the engagement ring. And if you get so unlucky, the man may find an unusual kind of love somewhere else and turn you to a baby mama.


  6. You do not command respect

 As a woman, certain things do not make you command respect; living with a man you are not married to will not make him respect you. And in cases where you do not end up together, then it becomes a stigma. The question now is how many men do you have to live with before you finally settle down with one?
