SOME ODDITIES IN BUHARI'S CHANGE THAT NEED TO BE CHANGED

Many of President Buhari's ardent supporters have been on the defensive lately trying to justify decisions of the regime from why the Naira is on a free fall, food prices on its way to outer space and to why restructuring is taking this long. Sincerely, many Nigerians are still optimistic with Buhari in fixing the odds, but he must unbox his mallet and knock through appointees that seem to be doors jamming our thoughts on a disciplined agenda - expected to transform the plights of the sinking nation.

Family affair Finance minster - Kemi Adeosun isn't at the United Nations General Assembly based on claims that there was a circular that "only those with meetings" should attend. Understandably, it makes sense - lots of sense - as an anti-waste move and we appreciate that. But to see the Presidents wife and two daughters seated in New York listening to daddy negotiate for Nigeria looks inexplicable. How do you make one understand the rationale of most members of the first family attending an event of which key officials of the republic had to boycott in the name of saving cost. The SSA media to the president, Garba Shehu was quick to excuse this stunt from Aisha Buhari and her daughters on Twitter that, their trip was paid by the family. We don't doubt that, but why? Buhari must look at the bigger picture or implication of such moves. And going by what Adeosun said, which meeting took the presidents wife there and Qui Bono? We just alighted a tenure that fancies friends and family entourage at government functions, and believe me, it counted against them at the pools. For the common man, its hard-biting oppression with tax payers money. As a regime of change from the norm, government business should be business of the government officials. Very few will digest the scene that Buhari's family is at UNGA71 on family pocket and make sense of it. Why won't they be somewhere, wherever tanning their skins and watch their hero speak. At troubling times like this, it's a huge morsel for the common man to swallow.
--> Most worrying is even the seriousness the First Lady, yes First Lady was displaying at a session attempting to make sense of her presence where she ought not to be. I would rather some government official replaced her for whatever she takes from that place is her business. As a wife unrecognized as an officer of the state, she must maintain her advisory role. With the exchange rate over 400 Naira to the dollar, this event will only create chasms for haters like that one far away in Atlanta, with valuable points to demolish the presidents effort. Anti-corruption Especially on social media, renegades have remained by their keyboards bent on diverting attention of citizens to either blur corrupt tracks or paint the anti-corruption crusaders as thieves themselves. This we know, but excesses must be checked especially from Buhari's kitchen cabinet. This allegations are becoming too many to doubt. Recently, the SGF, minister of justice and even chieftains in the APC like Mai Mala Buni have been fingered . It is no more rumour that people are bribing their way to contracts, Jobs, security detail and other privileges preserved for the majority at the bottom. Honestly, this are trends traceable to regimes we rejected. Buhari has not succeeded in creating that deterrence. If you don't investigate the closest of friends and send the guilty parking, how do you scare intending criminals and make us understand that the change mantra is still on track. As a Nigerian, I will understand the numeracy of fronts this regime is fighting to save us and we appreciate that, but the best form of defending is to be on the attack. Buhari must axe the slightest of wrongdoers, irrespective of affiliation or we simple forget about the change agenda altogether. I always say that this MAN doesn't have any agenda for Nigeria. He came to destroy, not to build!
