Nigeria moves up 4 spots to 60th in FIFA rankings
Nigeria has moved to 60th on the FIFA latest ranking, jumping four places from its last position in September. However, Nigeria is still outside the top 10 in Africa as it is rated 11th in the continent. The rise followed two straight wins over
Tanzania and Zambia under new coach Gernot Rohr. The Super Eagles piped Tanzania 1-0 in a final AFCON 2017 qualifier in Uyo, before they upstaged hosts Zambia 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier earlier this month.

Nigeria’s World Cup rivals Algeria, who they welcome to Uyo next month, stayed put in 35th position in the world, but sliped to third in Africa behind Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal. Cameroon remained 59th in the world, while Zambia droped two spots to 94th. Germany and Brazil have moved into second and third respectively, giving hot chase to Argentina, the world number one.
