EPL: Stan Collymore identifies 2 managers that’ll replace Mourinho

Former Premier League star, Stan Collymore has told Manchester United to replace Jose Mourinho with either Mauricio Pochettino or Zinedine Zidane.

Collymore noted that Mourinho is paying the price for failing to adapt.

The former Real Madrid boss endured a stormy pre-season as United failed to sign his targets and rumours of rifts with key players rumbled on.

The opening weekend win over Leicester did nothing to lift the gloom over the man currently at the helm at Old Trafford.

And his mood will have worsened on Sunday as a limp United suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Chris Hughton’s Brighton..

“I’ve always thought Mauricio Pochettino would be an obvious candidate,” Collymore told the Mirror.

“I like the idea of Zinedine Zidane, too.

“But right now, Man United are going nowhere fast.

“They won’t drop out of the Champions League places as they are still good enough to get the top four.

“But they are all about attacking football, feel-good factor, the Theatre of Dreams, winning trophies with a smile and swagger.

“A lot of people were willing to give [Mourinho] the benefit of the doubt and say if he buys this or that player, Manchester United will be alright, will be more motivated this year etc etc etc,.

“I don’t buy into the whole ‘Mourinho third year’ thing as the reason why things aren’t going right at the moment.
“That is a lazy cliche.

“The reason he has been underwhelming is because he didn’t adapt.”
