OVER 500 NORTHERN STUDENTS SO FAR SENT TO A LAND OF SEE NO MORE BY BOKO HARAM INSURGENCY


 Over 500 students have been killed in the last three years of increasing of insurgency attacks perpetrated by Boko Haram, said Northern Nigerian Students Association.

Speaking while bestowing an honourary award of "Grand Commander of Northern NigeriaSTudents" on a former military administrator of Akwa Ibom state, Yakubo Baku, on Wednesday, the students expressed concerns over the welfare of their members.



According to the students association, hundreds of the students remained critically injured and are currently at various hospitals receiving treatment

The association had further said it had become imperative  for them to initiate moves that will help the students to overcome the traumatic situation they face right now.

The leader of the Northern Students Association, Musa Terrang, said his group was able to compile the number of students killed through their committees attached to NEMA and Red Crescent.

Terrang pointed out that some of the injured students are now orphans, causing the Association to create endowment fund to cater for them.

Meanwhile, the students have greatly expressed their gratitude over Mr Bako effort by honoring him for his contributions to the society.

having heard what the students have said concerning his contributions, Mr Bako assured them that he is always ready to help them achieve their goals.He also added, I can always stand by you guys because i was like many of you guys while I was growing up; there was no one to take care of me.
