An early morning mudslide on Saturday brought down a two-storey building located along Orisha Street, Isheri Magodo, at the Imodium area of Berger, Lagos State, killing four siblings and leaving two others with varying degrees of injuries.
The deceased persons who were identified as 23-year-old Sylva Odiah, 15-year-old Sayo Odiah, 11-year-old Clinton Odiah, and 8-year-old Endurance Odiah, were brought out dead after the three-bedroom flat was buried under the ground.
Aside from the dead bodies recovered by emergency services, the matriarch of the home, Mrs. Odiah, was rescued alive and was rushed to the hospital immediately, where she is said to be in a critical condition.
After the building sunk about 6am, the first casualty to be brought out from underneath the rubble about 8.30am was eight-year-old Endurance, who was still dressed in his shorts, while Sylva was the last person to be fished out.
