A video making the rounds on the internet has shown what appears to be an invisible car appearing from nowhere to cause an accident.
The eerie dash cam footage has left viewers baffled as it appears to show the moment a ‘ghost car’ slams into a truck at a busy set of crossroads.
The video shows traffic turning right before a silver car suddenly appears in the middle of the intersection and crashes into one of the signalling cars.
Dash Cam Owners Australia posted the footage on social media where it has now been viewed more than 190,000 times.
Tom Trevarton wrote on Facebook: “Where did that car come from? I’ve watched it a few times and still can’t see it.”
Petey Mason added: “Where the hell did that Astra even come from? I watched the video nearly a dozen times and am still none the wiser!!!”
But other users agreed that the silver car had just run the red light, and might have been slightly obscured from view by the rain and spray on the road.
One viewer wrote: “Have to admit, my Nissan Patrol (silver and black) seems to activate a cloak of invisibility on rainy days.”
Another Facebook user added: “This is a good preview to show why you must have your headlights on during overcast/rainy days and also when the sun starts to set.”
The incident is believed to have taken place at a Cranbourne intersection in Victoria, Australia.
It is not known if anyone was hurt in the crash.
