I HAVE MADE MILLIONS OF NAIRA BUT HAVEN'T GOT A KOBO---By Obeya Friday

Undoubtedly as you have heard it, I have actually made millions of naira but I haven't got a kobo! My name is Mr “Squandering barboo” who loved amusements, entertainment, gambling, drinking and luxurious life.

I am a somebody of high personality known to be a candidate of “dissipation” because throughout my life I lived and formed nothing but habits of dissipation.

My subconscious mind was always filled with “the fear of poverty and old age”, therefore I decided to live for the moment and totally forgot that future exist. I party and club any how I wanted it! I spent my salary as it came. But I never thought of making a save for tomorrow.

I worked with one reputable food organization where I was receiving eighteen thousand naira (N18,000) as monthly salary for it has been constitutionally stipulated for every average working Nigerians by Nigerian government.

To me, Mr Squandering Barboo, the eighteen thousand naira (N18,000) was a chicken change which could not change my life for any good if I decided to make a save out of it. With this mindset, I kept Squandering the money thereby making me to have lived from hand to mouth. I never thought of saving in my life. I concluded that eighteen thousand naira (N18,000) could not pave my way into the successful realms. I lived in the dark for complete thirty seven good years for lack of habit of saving.

Below are the way I apportioned my salary as it came:

Savings account……...Nothing

Living--Clothes, food and shelter…….65%

Recreation……..35%

Education…….0%

Life insurance…..0%

That was how I did spend my income.

And it was so wise in my eyes!

The most painful aspect of Mr Squandering Barboo’s lifestyle was that he failed to start a savings account and to learn new things. He missed uncountable great number of opportunities in his life simply because he was adamant about changing his habits of dissipation and refused to go to school. Great opportunities have come and gone his way like breeze because of his unyielding spirit.

A very good friend of Mr Squandering Barboo called Kakomaku advised him to always apportion his income/salary as follows but he vigorously closed his ears to the advice:

Savings account…..20%

Living--Clothes, food and shelter…….50%

Education…….10%

Recreation…..10%

Life insurance…...10%

But Mr Squandering Barboo was so impenetrable by anything around him. He wouldn't listen to Kakomaku’s advice. He kept living a luxury lifestyle. Later he got indebted to everything around him.

“As I was writing this message, tears overwhelming my face for I have now seen the light which I would have seen long ago if I had yielded to the advice of my very good friend, Kakomaku”, Mr Squandering Barboo mourned his mistake.

“What a mess of life!”, Mr Squandering Barboo exclaimed.

“ I have lived for complete 37 years now but no achievement. I am no longer getting younger and I still remain wretched and no hope of tomorrow. Now I have realized that my inability and refusal to make a saving has caused me this unbearable condition of life. What if I had yielded to the advice of my friend, Kakomaku since 37 years ago, by now I should have become a millionaire with a total sum of one million five hundred and ninety eight thousand four hundred naira (N1598400.00)”, said Mr Squandering Barboo.

“ Gush, I have made a mistake of my life! This is how I would have become a millionaire at the age of 37 years old as simple as follows: 20% of N18000 equal to N3600 multiply by 12 months equal to N43200 multiply by 37 years equal to N1598400. What a mess of life!”, Mr Squandering Barboo exclaimed.

“Well, that is my destiny. I am destined to die in poverty. I have accepted my fate”, Mr Squandering Barboo soliloquizing.

“ No, that is not your fate. You are born with great potential hidden in you waiting to be discovered. Never ruin your tomorrow because of your yesterday. Change your way of thinking and feeling. Change your habits of dissipation and form a habit of saving”, Kakomaku rebuked his friend Mr Squandering Barboo as he came out of his Lexus Jeep.

Kakomaku has once again brought a breeze of relief and hope to his old time friend, “Mr Squandering Barboo”.

After the last meeting of Mr Squandering Barboo and his very good friend, ‘Kakomaku’, Mr Squandering Barboo tried to change his habits of dissipation and form a habit of saving. Initially, he found it very difficult to revamp his mind with new habits. But gradually, he conquered the habits of dissipation and finally revamped his mind with new habits towards prosperity.

He started by forming the habits of thinking and talking of prosperity and abundance. He taught himself to know that the making and saving of money is a science. Finally he got to know that the main prerequisite to secure a future is a willingness to subordinate the present to the future by eliminating unnecessary expenditures for luxuries, the fear of poverty and old age.

Mr Squandering Barboo who thought that life has finally arrested its case against him that he was going to die in poverty, after embraced the advice of his very good friend, ‘Kakomaku’, has now become a millionaire.

HOW DID HE DO THIS?

1. He eradicated the fear of poverty and old age from his mind and replaced it with prosperity and abundance imagination

2. He stopped living for the moment and started living for the future

3. He finally formed a habit of saving----he quit the the habits of buying on credit; he replaced his spending habit by saving habit.

Congratulations to Mr Squandering Barboo for he has finally made it!

This is what majority of people are facing most of the time. Now, you have got to do something! Any where you see Mr Squandering Barboo, just remove it and replace it with your own name to see if you are like Mr Squandering Barboo. Make all the necessary changes and you will be great once again.
