MTN LAUNCHES CARFI STICKS TO BOOST INTERNET ACCESS

MTN Nigeria has introduced MTN CarFi Sticks to aid subscribers’ access to internet while they are in traffic. MTN CarFi Sticks launched at the 2015 Abuja Motor Fair sponsored by MTN, is the first of its kind to be introduced in Nigeria.
MTN’s sponsorship of the motor fair is part of the company’s activities to support the rapid development in the automotive and road transport sectors in Nigeria. The event which is in its 17th edition was organised by BKG Exhibitions Ltd.

Describing the MTN CarFi Stick, General Manager, Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Richard Iweanoge, said the device would boost easy access to the internet and also make life more comfortable for the Nigeria road traveller using internet.
“The MTN CarFi Stick is a wireless gadget designed to provide internet access for motor vehicles. It is a fast, reliable and easy to operate high-speed network access terminal that can be inserted into a car cigarette lighter socket, and then allows up to ten (10) portable devices to connect to a Wi-fi network while in a moving vehicle. With the device, users can surf the internet easily," Iweanoge said.
He added: "MTN Nigeria is the first telecom operator to launch the device, and we will leverage it to drive innovation in the data space. MTN CarFi Stick is a unique device developed in line with our vision of leading the delivery of a bold, new digital world,” Iweanoge said.
Speaking on the rationale for the sponsorship, Iweanoge said: “MTN is proud of this partnership. We believe the Abuja Motor fair is not only the most consistentbut also the fastest growing auto show in Africa and we are glad to be driving this success and taking part in the continuous development of this ever growing industry.”
Managing Director, BKG Exhibitions Ltd, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu, who expressed his appreciation for MTN’s partnership said: “Over the years, the Abuja motor fair has remained a major platform to showcase and harness the potentials of the growing Nigerian automotive industry."

The Abuja International Motor Fair is a strategic business platform where the largest variety of automotive products and services are showcased in sub-Saharan Africa. The fair has consistently provided high-level business opportunities for participants to benefit from trade and businesses abound in Africa’s largest economy.
